The AMP Grand Opening is less than a week away now! Who will be there?

They've said they'll stream Mark's remarks online, and I may do a little periscoping when I'm there (@Kepesk)

This thing is going to be a blast! Remember to RSVP at http://arcimoto.com/amp

Join us in celebration as we Press Start on the Arcimoto Manufacturing Plant (AMP) and the very first Signature Series Fun Utility Vehicle. The event marks the culmination of a decade of design and development, and eight generations of vehicle prototypes, and we look forward to sharing our progress with the community that has been steadfast in support of our vision of sustainable transportation.

Aside from super electro-awesome, this event will feature Eugene’s finest in food carts and local beverages, some saucy remarks from our Founder, and groovy music that will play well into the evening. Join us!

The older prototypes all lined up and ready for the show! Including The Pulse, which I haven't seen in years. Exciting!

Wow what an event that was!  Here's the lowdown:

First a note: it's not SRK now.  It's FUV.  The ETC is the last SRK, and all the production vehicles are FUVs.  (Sorry Dale)

The BFL was there (and impressive!)  Apparently they had just gotten it into place the morning of the event.  They say it has the capability of cutting over 20,000 FUVs worth of metal per year.  More than enough for their short term production goals.

Every existing prototype except the ETC was out on display in what will eventually become the FUV inventory area.

for the first time ever, there had shirts and hats for sale to anyone who wanted them.  So I completed my set.

They asked everyone to write someething inspirational on one of the walls.  Every FUV produced at this facility will roll by this wall.

it feels like the whole town turned out!  The news was there, a bunch of local food trucks, even our local state senator made an appearance.  Eventually Jesse got up on stage and made some very funny opening remarks (including claiming Mark was under the stage in a very small box so he had to draw things out to make him suffer)

Then finally Mark drove out in his brand-new FUV #0 to give hiss remarks.  The whole thing starts at about minute 17 of this video:

That's all I have time to write now.  I'll post details and photos of the new FUV soon.

After Mark's speech, Every one crowded around his brand-new FUV for a closer look.  I waited for the crowd to disperse a little before taking a pile of photos.

It's blue with silver trim and a silver racing stripe because why not?  It looks slick.  It's the same general shape and size as the Alphas but with some significant improvements and refinements.  Base model FUVs have a pull-out 110 charge cable so you don't have to haul around an extension cord.  Here's the refined windshield wiper with hidden mechanism, with the defrost vent visible on the right:

Here are some new controls for wipers, defrost, heated seats and grips, a couple other buttons, and a USB charge port hidden behind the grey cap:

The refined handlebar with new phone mount:

More in next post...

The refined touchscreen.  It apparently has a GPS chip and will be able to provide some sort of navigation capability:

The new battery box is a lot skinnier, and they appear to have adjusted the position of the foot break again, and they stuck with the dual-brake system.

And last but not least, the fold-down back seat they've been teasing!

A few more detail shots of Mark's FUV:

I believe these are FUVs 2, 3, and 4 in various states of construction, while 1 is being built at the design studio (though I could be a little off on that mark on that):

And here's a wide shot of the factory:

All in all, it was a blast.  And when I was riding my bike to the After party, Mark blew past me in his brand new FUV.  Sustainable transportation for the win!

The refinements and build quality look amazing. Also, it sounds like a major upgrade in range on the base model? Great photos! Thanks for posting.

Nice selfie of you modeling Arcimoto's Fashion Line.

They said Mark's SRK could beat 100 miles on a charge but they didn't say that it was standard. I would suspect that it's an intermediate step toward rolling out the extended range battery pack but that's just a wild guess on my part.

I recall an A Team post on their facebook page regarding an anticipated range increase from 70 to 100 miles due to an improvement in the previously specified battery Pack.........shape of the cells in the pack or similar.....don't recall the technical term.  I doubt I'll take the time to hunt down the post.  Time will tell if they update the spec sheet.  100 miles would cover most roundtrip commutes.
