Well, believe it or not ..... http://newatlas.com/thrustcycle-gyrocycle/46449/ ... They´re promoting the same idea! It hasn´t (as yet) shown that it can drive around corners (the main problem for gyro assisted two-wheelers). But I´m certain that there are enough people still left who´ll be fascinated by the idea.

Interesting find!  The Bumblebee Gyrocycle Test Video shows the early prototype going around the corner.......although there is a cut in the actual video after it comes to a stop.......and drives off again.  A track run would do more to validate the concept.  Perhaps one to watch.  3 people still interested that I know of.  You, me, and Phil.

I´m so fed up with all these fantasies, that I´ve started looking at an old Landrover (like the one I had many years back).

Fantasies. I had the idea that I could sell a flying machine for $13000, which could be flown legally without a license. I bought two of them, flew them a bunch, and advertised. I thought the world would beat a path to my door. I got a lot of inquiries. All dreamers and fantasists. They wanted to carry a passenger, wanted more power, more speed, etc. - all of which would raise the cost and eliminate the ability to fly legally without a license. Then there were those who were interested, but refused to take any flight training. I wouldn't sell to them because they might kill themselves. One went elsewhere, took a test flight in a different type of machine, and killed himself right in front of his wife. I still have the two aircraft, and now my wife doesn't want me flying any more than she wants me driving a motorcycle.

I hope that potential SRK buyers are more than dreamers.

DanCooper, Your wife is a caring, loving, and wise woman.  Smile Hopefully, she is fine with three wheels!

Future Elio/Solo/Tesla Model 3/ Helix/ i-Road/ and SRK owners are all dreamers, dreaming to be owners.

Hey Dan,
If you've got any pictures, I'd love to see them.
And don't forget about the "Motorcycles" section.
I'd love to see some of our members' bikes too.

Elio keeps talking about improvements they are making. Will they polish it forever, or will they seriously start production? I hope they succeed and sell lots of them, although the SRK is better suited to my interests and needs.

I hear ya.
This is what I posted "over there"...

"That brings up a great point and question.
Now that they have an "80% production" vehicle that's shown cruising at moderate highways speeds...
Isn't it time for some simple real-life performance (mpg, mph, 0-60, HP, etc) testing?

Or are we going to hear more excuses for not even having proof of concept after 8 years?

Come on. Really!"

Arcimoto is busy engineering fasteners that will securely attach the SRK's optional enclosure panels. EM is busy engineering fasteners to permanently attach the Elio's base model fenders. Oh, I kid EM engineers.

As light and aerodynamic as the Elio is, I think their claim of 84 mpg is conservative. I would be more suspicious of Arcimoto's claim of 200+ equivalent mpg, but if they don't hit that target, no biggie.
