So the governor of Oregon recently signed a transportation bill that (if I'm reading it right) provides a $2500 rebate for the purchase of SRKs and other inexpensive EVs. The governor has been going around like the politician she is and holding ceremonial signings in various cities. Here is today's:

I may have to move to Oregon!
I believe the Federal Electric Motorcycle tax incentive bill ($2500 Max) expires in 2017. Likely won't be renewed and probably shouldn't. Government tax incentives on EVs in general have served their purpose.

EV sales have dropped as tax incentives ended. The big thing that keeps EV prices high is batteries, and economies of scale will gradually bring that down. I think incentives should be gradually reduced rather than suddenly stopped.
