Big week here at Arcimoto HQ as we just reported our second quarter
financials. Where to begin? How about here, with Mark’s quarterly
update. Watch our intrepid founder zip through the streets of Eugene,
sharing all the latest company highlights, from the completion of our
Signature Series to a tour of the Arcimoto Manufacturing Plant
featuring laser-cutting robots, to the rollout of our first Beta
vehicles. Did we mention the laser-cutting robots?

For even more Q2 action, you can check out the complete recording of
the earnings call here

In the coming weeks, we plan to open our first Arcimoto rental
location, here in Eugene, Oregon. Our goal is to create a complete
customer experience center, where you can kick the tires, take a test
drive, and rent an FUV for an hour, or a day. We believe the rental
model is going to be a huge part of what we do, as it allows more
people to experience the FUV as quickly as possible and as
inexpensively as possible – first in Eugene, then in tourist
destinations around the world.

Speaking of destinations, in July we visited our friends at HulaCar in
San Diego, who plan to open a second rental location in the coming
months. Hula is creating nothing less than an EV Oasis, an electric
hub where you will be able to plug in your vehicle (and rent it out!),
grab a cup of fair trade coffee, and relax while pondering a
not-too-distant future of autonomous electric FUVs chauffeuring the
good people of San Diego to Comic-Con, the beach, and back to
Comic-Con. We’ll have more updates on Hula soon, but the most
important takeaway here is we definitely brought the FUVs to
Comic-Con, because Comic-Con. And yes, we did challenge Batman to a
drag race in the Batmobile, but he just mumbled something about
“display only,” and trudged away. We’ll chalk that up as a forfeit,
Bruce.

We’re in the process of building Hula’s vehicles at this very moment.
Before the end of 2018, our goal is to complete the Beta Series,
complete production on the ensuing Pilot Series, and then roll into
full Retail Series production. If you pre-order an FUV today, we aim
to have it in your driveway late next year.

If you want your FUV even faster, come help us build them! We are
rapidly growing our team here at the AMP, with new hires joining us
from across the country to help power the EV revolution. We’re now up
to 76 teammates and counting. If you have a very particular set of
skills, skills you have acquired over a very long career, skills that
perhaps rhyme with “schmengineering,” check out our jobs page
https://app.greenrope.com/c1.pl?e24c47b9...27524a6329
We would love to have you.

Here’s a fun fact: 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of National
Lampoon’s Animal House, filmed right here in Eugene. If you’re in the
neighborhood this Saturday, come on down to Cottage Grove where
Arcimoto will be driving FUVs in the Animal House anniversary parade
before we attempt to set the Guiness World Record for world’s largest
toga party! If you don’t show up, you’re officially on double-secret
probation. Full event details here!

And there you have it. Another quarter in the books, with a very
exciting ramp up to Retail Series production by the end of the year.
On behalf of Team Arcimoto, this is Jon Miller, your friendly
neighborhood communications specialist. We’ll see you on the road, and
don’t forget to recycle.

Quote:The EV Oasis Brings Together EV Charging, A Rest Area, & Coffee For Southern California Drivers

Electric three-wheeled “fun utility vehicle” manufacturer Arcimoto and HULA Holdings recently announced that they were partnering on a new project to deliver a full-service charging station for EVs, dubbed the EV Oasis.

Seems things are staring to align

The Arcimoto FUV production line is staring up, which makes an EV Oasis possible

Hopefully soon there will be many other EV sanctuaries (i.e. Arcimoto customer experience center's) announced,  and behemoth 4000+ lbs SUVs (Stupid Urban Vehicles) will be replaced w/ something more suitable for the environment

You must not have a family of 3 or more, own a boat/trailer, or live in an all season waste deep snowfall climate.  I do currently own a small/lighter weight SUV as my primary use and family need vehicle.  My FUV will be used primarily for around town FUN to supplement my SUV.  I will appreciate both based on need at the time I use them, but will always prefer fun over stupid. ?

when I mentioned Stupid Urban Vehicle, it was sort of meant as a joke,... as I see things, driving an SUV in an crowded urban neighborhood would be akin to using a 12lb "Sledge" to drive in a thumb tack

in other words, I select a tool depending upon the job,... and given that I have an old 80 series land cruiser that has been modified for overland road trips alaska/baja/etc. its kinda over kill to drive around my behemoth SUV in my neck of the woods  (which just happens to be a hipster ubran neighborhood only about a mile from down town San Diego) on a daily basis

basically in neck of the woods, on a daily basis the proper tool to run errands IMHO is an FUV

Pretty much.  While the FUV will fit my needs perfectly for running around town, going shopping, and the occasional trip to other towns within 30-40 miles of me, it definitely is not the vehicle of choice for a trip to the west coast or down to New Orleans for Mardi Gras - although driving a blinged out FUV in the Mardi Gras parade would be a hoot! Cool
