On the "removable extended range battery pack" front - The FUV gets 100 miles of city range on a 20 kWh battery pack.
An EcoFlow Delta 2kWh "portable" battery weighs 50 pounds. Hauling back and forth a 50 pound battery to add 10 miles city range? That's not really worth it.
As for charging - the 9.6kW charger unit in a Tesla Model S is big and bulky and takes up quite a bit of space (compared to the size of an Arcimoto FUV.) There simply isn't a good place to put a 19.2kW onboard charger.
And my FUV fully recharges no problem during my 6 hour time-of-use off-peak window.
That said, Arcimoto did just enter into an agreement with Mobius Energy that could allow future FUVs to support *150kW* charging, with battery tech that would allow full battery pack recharge in 10 minutes.
Full hard doors…. SIIIIIGH. I waited so long for hard doors at all. It would be great, but I wasn't willing to wait...
Although I did just get soft windows added to my hard half doors earlier today!
