Hey gang!

Wanted to drop in and introduce myself. I just placed my pre-order last week, been following Arcimoto for a while now and seeing the product delivered to Capt Reynolds(err...Nathan Fillion) I decided it was time to pull the trigger. Based out of Portland, OR I am not too far from Eugene; hoping to get a tour of the Arcimoto facility soon and have been chatting with them regarding it.

I am an electric vehicle diagnostic specialist technician for BMW, working mainly on the i3 and i8. So I have a fair amount of EV experience, been driving EV since 2014 and have been all over them from a service perspective too. Very excited to see this type of platform coming to market, great commuter vehicle for my 25 mile round trip daily commute. I am also a member of the local chapter Electric Vehicle Association(OEVA).

Looking forward to some of the first people getting their Signature Series units and reporting back on operational details, and working through the inevitable new model vehicle and new company growing pains with this group as well as the Arcimoto team!

Welcome.  Although not a godfollower, a FUV reservationist for a long time, and a Tesla Model 3 reservationist for a couple years, I will appreciate and value your posts regarding personal experience with EVs.

That is alright, we are not here to talk about that. Just my username of choice, to keep my online presence consistent across many forums ?

Do you/have you owned any EVs, or are you planning to be a first time EV owner with the Model 3 and/or SRK

I’ve been looking forward to becoming a first time EV owner for a longtime. I’ve been following Arcimoto for a decade and likely would have purchased any of the later SRK iterations, but the Gen 8 is my favorite and eager to get in the pilot’s seat. Also, the Model 3 is the first EV that appeals to my styling preference and slightly more affordable price point. I considered the BMW i3 a couple years ago, but styling, range, and MSRP didn’t check all my required boxes. I anticipate delivery of both in 2018.

Welcome GodFollower.

I think it's exciting when highly skilled technicians feel that a vehicle is worth their interest.
We have a someone who was in the test pilot program for the Mini-E and Active-E as well.
If the rest of us happen to get that glazed look while listening to the two of you compare notes...
I won't be too concerned. I'm sure that we'll glean some very valuable information and insight.
Looking forward to it! Thanks for being part of the community and make yourself at home.

This version kicks. There's just no other way to describe it. Shivers. Turn...it...up!

Welcome to the family! I started out looking for yet another motorcycle. Loved the Zero, but too expensive. Almost dropped a dime on the Elio. When that didn't pan out, I kept looking until I stumbled onto Arcimoto. I haven't found anything about it that I don't like, including the people there. Top notch all the way. Looking forward to attempting to understand all the techno speak involved so I can better understand and maintain my FUV.

I have owned two EV truck conversions and one recumbent trike with electric assist.  Both trucks are/were based on Mazda B2000 pickups.  The first I built in 2001 and had lead acid batteries-  crap compared to what is available now. The second and our present around town vehicle has half of a Leaf battery in it. It weighs 1300 lbs less and gets the same miles per charge as the first one.  We have over 7000 miles of around town driving.   Between the trucks and the trike I have a real feel for the Arcimoto and jumped in all the way and Bought a Signature Series FUV which should be ready in a month or so.

How did you like the electric trike? Single hub motor? Useful or not useful for commuting, shopping, or recreation?

Nice! My father-in-law and I are working on converting his 36ft house boat to electric drive, the plan is to use two 80kw 3 phase Synchronous motors with about 60kwh of battery capacity(probably 30/30 split, maybe 5-10 additional for house battery). Should get us out and back 15 miles, in pretty much any condition. It originally had two 351W motors with V-Drives installed(and 225 gallons of fuel capacity!!). After we get it up and operational with the base system, the plan is to retrofit a diesel or NG Range Extender generator in it for those just-in-case scenarios.

Conversions are fun, especially built from scratch ones. Kit conversions are fun too, but lack the "thrill(aka expense)" of engineering and building your own setup.
