  Arcimoto EVE - SiliconValley Presentation
Posted by: Rickb - 04-23-2017, 06:10 PM - Forum: General FUV Discussion - Replies (1)

If you have nothing else to do or watch, Mark's presentation provides for interesting background on his visionary new vehicle startup company Arcimoto and the SRK's evolutionary process and progress over the past decade.  Definitely a man with a vision, the funding, the team, and the determination to get it done.  Not just a dream, but rather a mission to disrupt the wonderful world of transportation with an affordable, small footprint EV commuter vehicle.

  The Fate of the Three-Wheeler
Posted by: paravil - 04-20-2017, 07:20 AM - Forum: In the News - Replies (37)

The British Daily Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/cars/features...d-sell-us/) has today just reminded me of another failed microcar of the 1970s: the Qpod. It originally came out as a three-wheeler and was (like so many others, proclaimed as `the Future of Urban Transport!´).

Soon after its introduction, it was fitted with two outrigger wheels .... and then transformed into a four wheeled vehicle. It was never a market success.

SRK & Solo limited to North Anerica
Posted by: paravil - 04-13-2017, 08:45 AM - Forum: General FUV Discussion - Replies (21)

One of the main reasons for deciding to reclaim my down payments on both of these vehicles was that the only reason why they are three wheelers (and not four) is the legal requirement in North America limiting registration in the quad category to three wheels. Thus the Reanault Twizy would need to go through automobile testing procedures in North America, and inherently unstable three wheel quads are manufactured, whereas four wheels would be undisputedly safer (please read the very interesting page on James´ Australian Tilting Vehicles site: http://www.tiltingvehicle.net/AXP.html). It will be interesting to see how a comparatively fast Solo will comply with safety issues when cornering during its US compliancy tests.

Neither the Solo nor the SRK would be likely to sell in any other market where four wheels are not excluded from the quad category.

  things I want!
Posted by: ben - 04-06-2017, 04:37 AM - Forum: Upgrades and Options - Replies (15)

aside from world peace, a cure for cancer and the winning power-ball numbers BEFORE a "YUGE" jackpot drawing!

things I want (for the SRK) is an ability to have a removable rear seat so I can install a proper dog kennel enclosure (because I don't think it would be safe to strap in a dog in the passenger seat or randomly position a dog to sit)

[Image: Handoko_Njotokusuma_has_trained_his_pet_...cooter.jpg]

also I want some kind secure/built-in document carrier for the vehicle registration and proof of insurance (perhaps built in the "cargo box" and/or could this feature be built into the app???) and a weather proof cover (figure even though I live in SoCal where it does not rain that much, it would be nice to have a weather proof cover to protect the vehicle from dust and UV)

well that its for now, aside from I wish mark, et al. would hurry up with testing and get started w/ actual mass production so I can take physical delivery of the vehicle...

  Arcimoto App
Posted by: Kepesk - 04-01-2017, 04:08 PM - Forum: General FUV Discussion - Replies (3)

Okay I knew that they were going to have an app to start the vehicle, but if all thse features make it into the final app, that's kind of mind-blowing.

I'm pretty sure I'll be having every single one of my friends and coworkers doing test drives with this thing.  And if I can make a few deliveries while I'm already driving all around town?  Well I could definitely use the extra cash.
