Single 100 mile battery option |

The battery range wasn't as good as predicted for both battery options, so they will only be offering the large battery for now, and the range estimate has been reduced from 130 miles to 100 miles. The good news is that the larger battery and the 100 mile range will be included in the base price. I think this is a big win for most future owners. They still have plans for an extended range battery that fits in the same space, but it's not something I would bet on. 100 mile range is great for me, and much better than the 70 mile range of the previous standard battery option. I'm very happy with this development, speaking for myself. I do know that some people need the 130 mile range or even more if it becomes available. I hope you have that option in the future and that it's field upgradable.
Another topic on the SRK/FUV Facebook page was future charging options beyond the 120VAC and 240VAC. Someone also suggested that the FUV could serve as an (emergency) power source, if they design that in. If they provide a way to do that, an FUV could be used to power up another FUV or even provide temporary 120VAC power for home or camper or work site use. Does anyone know if Arcimoto is considering any of these options?

90 Mile Ramge? (Correction: 100!) |

Check it out - looks like the Arcimoto website has been changed to specify a single 90 mile range option rather than the 70/130 mile options.
This falls in line with my experience renting a Beta. I didn't run the battery dry, but my math showed that if I had, I would have gotten almost 90 miles.
Shouldn't be a problem for me; a busy day has me going about 80 miles. But I imagine others were hoping for that 130 number.

One Pedal Drive |

Greetings! I'm a new member and I have reservation #744, living in Texas.
How does the accelerator work when decelerating? Does it have an "engine brake" feel or does it brake pretty hard when you let all the way off of it?
I'm not a fan of the "one pedal drive" concept. It's not the dynamic I'm used to with traditional cars or motorcycles. As a veteran motorcycle rider, I want my accelerator to accelerate and give me an engine brake feel when rolling off the accelerator, and I want to use brakes for any further deceleration. I'm guessing that regenerative braking can be used for that engine brake feel - up to a point - before the brake takes the regenerative braking further and adds mechanical brakes when needed.
All you FUV test riders, please tell me how the deceleration/braking works in reality.
Dave

How many miles a week? |

How many miles a week do you expect to drive your FUV? I'll probably be on the low end of things. I already get a discount from my insurance carrier for low mileage driving - less than 100 miles per week. I own a 2002 Ford Explorer with only 130000 miles on the odometer. A tank of gas lasts me a month, and it has a thirsty V8 engine. I've had my Honda trike for 8 years and am averaging only 1000 miles per year on it.
