It's good to have the prototypes back in town!  I passed Red on the road today, and I've noticed they've taken to displaying it in front of their shop occasionally.

I'll try and snap a picture next time I drive by!

Anyone else had this idea?  I think my SRK will be fitted with a large pair of Givi saddlebags very soon after I take delivery.  Of course, it will take some fiddling to modify a mounting bracket, or even make a new one, but it would definitely be a worthwhile effort!  Even with the optional cargo box, the SRK is going to have limited cargo (say groceries) carrying abilities.  Since 99% of my grocery shopping is done within five miles of my house, and most of that within two miles, the SRK should be my vehicle of choice.  I'm also going to check into getting that top tinted.  The sun beats down pretty hard here in SE Kansas.  If it's too curved to apply tint film, I might just have to get radical and paint it!

If the SRK has two identical electric motors, one on each front wheel, how does the inner wheel compensate the speed difference when driving through a curve? If both front wheels were to maintain an identical speed, this would likely lead to excessive tyre wear and/or instability.

So quite a while back before the Gen 8 mule was revealed, I was comparing the Gen 7 design to the shuttles from Star Trek (being a big science fiction nerd).  I posted this side-by-side photo:



But when the Gen8 came out, it was a way different shape.  I couldn't find a spaceship that looked like it.  So I had a little Photoshop fun.



I can't remember what prompted me to Photoshop Rocket Raccoon into Blue a few months later, but that also happened.

Being lucky enough to live a mere five miles from the A-Team's shop, I end up attending almost all of their local events.  I've been bringing my two-year-old son Brandon to some of these, and I've made it a bit of a hobby to take pictures of him in the various prototypes.  I thought I'd share a few.

When I got my test drive with Blue this summer, I put my phone in my pocket and hit record.  This is that terrible video.  (Blue was making a fairly loud whine at the time which they fixed the next week, so just be aware that the noise is atypical)

The Arcimoto ETC will make it's appearance...

No test drives are available for this event.
But it's great to see this milestone completed.

   

In my opinion, this is the best aspect of the vehicle with BOTH front wheels driven by separate electric motors!
The next best is the comparatively high seating position which, in my experience, provides an important safety aspect in congested, urban traffic.
