I'm from the Washington, DC area and preordered in May of 2011. I'm not sure where that puts me in the reservation list but I should have a pretty low number.  I did a test drive when they passed through the area last month and it was a lot of fun to drive.

Hi, I am trying to find out if the Arcimoto SRK is really going to happen.  I am in Casper, Wyoming and I have been looking for this kind of vehicle for a long time - for energy conservation and for fun, for the 90% of travel that is in town.  I would be ready to put down a deposit, but sales@arcimoto.com does not answer e-mails, the preorder link on the website goes nowhere, and nobody answers postings on the Arcimoto facebook page.  Has this company failed at the threshold of production, like so many predecessors?

I started researching electric vehicles about 4 months ago when the wife and I dropped down to one car. That car is Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT so as you can imagine, my vehicle energy use footprint is a bit skewed. I figured I should probably do the right thing and try to find something to run around town in that was all or mostly electric. We live in Florida so I wasn't all that worried about whether it was open or enclosed but I did need something that was legally allowed to travel on a couple 45 mph roads which took several traditional golf cart like options off the table. I recently stumbled upon the SRK and then came here to learn more about it. Thanks to whomever started these forums - I look forward to participating. If there are other forums you can recommend to stay abreast of all the Arcimoto SRK info, please let me know.

It's good to have the prototypes back in town!  I passed Red on the road today, and I've noticed they've taken to displaying it in front of their shop occasionally.

I'll try and snap a picture next time I drive by!

Anyone else had this idea?  I think my SRK will be fitted with a large pair of Givi saddlebags very soon after I take delivery.  Of course, it will take some fiddling to modify a mounting bracket, or even make a new one, but it would definitely be a worthwhile effort!  Even with the optional cargo box, the SRK is going to have limited cargo (say groceries) carrying abilities.  Since 99% of my grocery shopping is done within five miles of my house, and most of that within two miles, the SRK should be my vehicle of choice.  I'm also going to check into getting that top tinted.  The sun beats down pretty hard here in SE Kansas.  If it's too curved to apply tint film, I might just have to get radical and paint it!
